Today we want to the Amarillo Harley Davidson, then shot over to Cadillac Ranch.... with a trip to Walmart in between to buy spray paint and another battery for my GoPro.
Cadillac Ranch was pretty cool, there were a lot of people there. After we went to Palo Duro Canyon by the advice of the girls who checked us into the hotel.
The Canyon is so beautiful. We got to drive into it. We only got to go so far because a bunch of the roads were washed out from recent rains. What I found out is there usually isn't this much green around, but because of all the recent rains we are seeing a whole different view of the desert.... the thought to be dead seeds are coming to life. So I guess you could say is we are seeing a phenomenon. How cool is that!
Something I have to say is the people are just so friendly in Amarillo, people went out of their way to take care of us. Such as 3 free coffees to go, us wanting to stay another night at the hotel, which was a Saturday night..... some reasonable price as the night before. Texas Hospitality was just amazing. We also were given little cowboy hats by our server, and she tried to give me free food because I just got Cole slaw for dinner....
Mike was happy he could smoke in the bar!
We also met the maintenance man "Gene" who yelled at Joe for using the hotel hose. So Joe gave Gene a sheriff badge for policing the parking lot.
